Welcome to Planning this week, our weekly guide to planning applications in and around Stratford-upon-Avon, in plain English, from Stratford-on-Avon District Council’s weekly list. The latest list, published on Monday 26 October, is a quiet one: 50 applications across the district, most of them for private homes and trees. In town, a theatre space on Rother Street wants air conditioning and a car dealership on Western Road wants new signs. Around Stratford, the biggest plan is for seven homes at Arrow, near Alcester.

In Stratford-upon-Avon

  • United Reformed Church, Rother Street: air conditioning for the main auditorium and backstage area, with five units inside and five condenser units outside (26/02530/FUL).
  • Listers, Western Road: the car dealership would replace its signs with three lit fascia signs, a lit pylon sign and a new lit entrance portal (26/02522/ADV). It was also in New in Stratford.

The rest of the town’s applications are for private homes: three extensions and two tree applications. We don’t name householders, but you can see every application near you on our Planning near me map.

Around Stratford

  • Arrow, near Alcester: outline plans for seven homes at Arrow Bridge House, replacing the existing houses and buildings on the site (26/02491/OUT).
  • Shipston-on-Stour: signs for the new Sainsbury’s on Tilemans Lane (26/02427/ADV) and small changes to the materials on the store’s front and side (26/02574/AMD). Full story.
  • Shipston-on-Stour: a farm building off Felton Close would be knocked down and replaced with one new home (26/02507/FUL).
  • Wimpstone, south of Stratford: a gasifier combined heat and power unit with a 10-metre flue inside an existing farm building at Wimpstone Fields Farm (26/02496/FUL).
  • Combrook: retrospective planning and listed building applications for changes to a listed cottage (26/02638/FUL and 26/02640/LBC).
  • Napton-on-the-Hill: an industrial unit on Folly Lane would become an MOT testing bay (26/02368/FUL).

The list also has tree work at Charlecote, Bidford-on-Avon, Claverdon, Kineton, Shipston and Southam, a telegraph pole in Studley, and work to private homes in the villages.
