Waterside: every Sunday until December

Waterside is closed from Bridge Street to Sheep Street from 9am to 6pm every Sunday (and on some bank holiday Mondays) for the Waterside Upmarket, which runs from March to December, according to the district council’s notice.

Featherbed Lane, Wilmcote: Friday 16 October

Featherbed Lane (the C41) in Wilmcote, about three miles north-west of Stratford, is closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 16 October while Warwickshire County Council’s contractor Balfour Beatty resurfaces it. It’s a one-day job. Access to homes and businesses will be kept where possible but isn’t guaranteed. The county council’s notice links to the diversion plan.

Tavern Lane: Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 October

Closed for new service connection works. The closure notice has the times and a diversion map.

Runaway Mop: Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October

From 00:01 on Friday 23 October until 06:30 on Sunday 25 October: Greenhill Street, Rother Street (from the NCP car park entrance), Wood Street, Windsor Street (Mansell Street to Rother Street) and Meer Street. The town council’s notice also lists Henley Street. Buses use temporary stops on Guild Street, behind Marks & Spencer.

Sheep Street: Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October

Closed to traffic while Cadent Gas fixes a defect from earlier work, near the Waterside end of the street. The work is expected to finish on Sunday 25 October. The signed diversion runs via High Street, Bridge Street, Bridgefoot, Warwick Road, Bridgeway, Waterside, Southern Lane, Old Town, Church Street and Chapel Street; access to properties is kept where possible. The closure notice has the diversion map. This is the Runaway Mop weekend too, so expect a busy Saturday.

Church Lane, Shottery: Saturday 24 October to Saturday 7 November

Closed for surface water and sewer connection works. The closure notice includes a diversion map. This runs through the October half-term, so allow extra time if you’re heading to Shottery.

Remembrance Sunday: Sunday 8 November, 7am to midday

Closed from 07:00 to 12:00 for the Remembrance Sunday commemorations: Chapel Street, Church Street, Chapel Lane, Old Town, Southern Lane, Waterside (from Sheep Street to Southern Lane), College Street, and Bull Street (from Chestnut Walk to Narrow Lane).

Christmas lights switch-on: Saturday 14 November, 4am to 10pm

Closed for the Christmas lights switch-on: Bridge Street (from its junctions with High Street and Union Street down to Waterside), Union Street, Henley Street, Meer Street, Wood Street and High Street. No driving or waiting on these streets while the order is in force. The bus stops on Wood Street and Bridge Street are inside the closed area. Source: the Town Council’s closure notice.
