Welcome to Planning this week, our weekly guide to planning applications in and around Stratford-upon-Avon, in plain English, from Stratford-on-Avon District Council’s weekly list. The latest list, published on Monday 19 October, has 65 applications from across the district. The biggest are on the edge of villages near Stratford: a first step towards up to 425 homes at Wellesbourne and up to 43 homes at Clifford Chambers. In town, there’s a new sign for a listed shop on Henley Street.

In Stratford-upon-Avon

  • 1 Henley Street: a new non-illuminated timber fascia sign with a recessed aluminium panel on the listed building at the town-centre end of Henley Street (26/02419/ADV and 26/02410/LBC). The application doesn’t name the business; it was also in New in Stratford.
  • River Avon bank: a willow on the riverbank would be coppiced, cut back to its base so it regrows (26/02492/TREE).

The rest of the town’s applications are for private homes: three more tree applications, a garage conversion and extension, a driveway, and a change to an extension approved last month. We don’t name householders, but you can see every application near you on our Planning near me map.

  • Near Southam: a part-open shelter over the events arena at the Dallas Burston Polo Grounds, Stoneythorpe (26/02430/FUL).

The list also has 17 more tree applications across the villages, farm buildings at Hampton Lucy, Warmington and Halford, and work to private homes.
