Alcester: New Market Place Coffee Shop and Flats Proposed

The town centre could be set for a fresh look following two new planning applications submitted this week.
A proposal has been lodged (25/02724/FUL) to construct a brand new two-storey building at a plot in the Market Place. If approved, the build would house a commercial coffee shop on the ground floor with office space above, filling a gap in the town’s historic centre.
Meanwhile, on Seggs Lane, the industrial landscape is set to change. An application (25/03113/FUL) has been submitted by James Smith & Son (Redditch) Ltd to demolish the existing industrial building at Unit M2. In its place, the developers plan to erect a two-storey residential block comprising 9 flats.
Both applications are currently awaiting decision by the planning authority.
